A delegation from Hungary has visited the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation

On July 10, 2025, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation was visited by Mr. Peter Hoppal, the Hungarian Government representative for Hungarian-Turkic cultural cooperation and the Hungary-Türkiye year of science and innovation, as well as Mr. Tamas Torma, the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Republic of Azerbaijan, TurkicWorld reports.

During the meeting with the President of the Foundation, Mrs. Aktoty Raimkulova, an extensive exchange of views took place on the current state of cooperation between the organization and Hungary, joint initiatives carried out, and future development prospects. Hungary’s contributions to the Foundation as an observer country were especially emphasized.

During the meeting, the importance of strengthening cultural diplomacy and the historical ties between the Turkic and Hungarian peoples was emphasized. In particular, the further development of programs such as expert exchanges, academic cooperation, and joint publication projects was discussed.

The President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Mrs. Aktoty Raimkulova, highly appreciated Hungary's permanent interest in the Foundation's activities and its active participation in cultural initiatives. She stated that cooperation with Hungary serves as a cultural bridge and holds special significance for fostering mutual understanding and cultural rapprochement between Turkic and European peoples.

Government representative Mr. Péter Hoppál expressed Hungary's readiness to cooperate with the Turkic World as well as to participate in the Foundation's extensive activities, and shared his recommendations regarding future collaboration opportunities.

One of the successfully implemented projects between the parties, the preparation of a multi-volume publication dedicated to the folklore of Turkic peoples, was specially highlighted. The main goal of the project is to systematize the rich intangible heritage of Turkic peoples - fairy tales, legends, proverbs, quatrains, epics, and other folklore genres -and pass it on to future generations. Hungary participates in this initiative, and the support provided to this project has been particularly appreciated.
