BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 15. New residential buildings will be constructed in Azerbaijan's Shusha, and the return of people will continue, Executive Director of the Shusha City State Reserve Department Tural Novruzov said during a panel discussion at the Caspian Construction Week, TurkicWorld reports.
"In accordance with the 'Great Return' program, restoration and construction works are being carried out, and the resettlement of people to their homeland will continue," he pointed out.
Novruzov added that work is also ongoing in the city to restore monuments.
Following the liberation of its territories from Armenian occupation in 2020, Azerbaijan initiated the long-awaited 'Great Return' program, which envisions the return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their native lands.
To date, a permanent settlement in the city of Shusha has been provided for 220 families - 823 people.
