Singapore company to implement mandatory fuel labeling in Kyrgyzsta

The Kyrgyz capital city of Bishkek hosted on Sept. 30 a ceremony of signing of an agreement on the public-private partnership project "Introduction of mandatory fuel labeling in the Kyrgyz Republic".

The purpose of the project is to label petroleum products, thereby significantly increasing tax revenues to the state budget, as well as the quality of fuel and suppression of the shadow component in the market of fuels and lubricants and environmental protection, the Center of PPP said.

The project involves the purchase of markers to be added to gasoline and diesel, as well as specialized analyzers for testing and monitoring. With the help of markers it became possible to recognize fuel that is illegally imported or sold on the domestic market without taxation.

The project will be implemented by a private partner represented by Singapore-based Nanolumi Pte. Ltd. under the "project sandbox" regime and is financed by US$4.02 million and will be implemented entirely by the private partner without co-financing from the government.
