Baku. TurkicWorld:
In response to growing security concerns in the Middle East, Uzbekistan Airways has announced changes to its flight routes, effective from October 2, 2024, TurkicWorld reports.
Following directives from the Civil Aviation Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the airline will avoid Iraqi airspace and the western part of Iranian airspace until further notice to ensure the safety of civilian flights.
"Passenger safety is our top priority. We have implemented these route changes to minimize any potential risks while maintaining our regular flight schedules," the statement from the airline reads.
Despite these adjustments, Uzbekistan Airways will continue its scheduled flights on the Tashkent – Tel Aviv – Samarkand/Tashkent route. The airline has outlined plans to use alternative flight paths to ensure the highest safety standards are upheld for all passengers.
