BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 5. Azerbaijani para-athlete Lamiya Valiyeva, who emerged victorious on September 3 in the 100-meter race (T13 category) at the Paralympic Games in Paris, is set to once again vie for the top spot today, TurkicWorld reports.
The Azerbaijani athlete is all set to demonstrate her prowess in the 400-meter event.
The competition in this category is set to kick off at 23:34 (GMT +4), culminating in the final stage on September 7.
The Azerbaijani Paralympic team has been incredibly successful at the Paris Paralympic Games, securing an impressive collection of three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.
The gold medals went to Imammaddin Khalilov (para-taekwondo, 70 kg), Said Najafzade (T12, long jump), and Lamiya Valiyeva (T13 category, 100-meter race), while Raman Salei won silver (100-meter backstroke) and bronze (100-meter freestyle), and Sabir Zeynalov won bronze (para-taekwondo, 58 kg).
