Azerbaijan's Baku debuts first-ever bike-sharing service

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 24. The first "bike-sharing" service has hit the streets of Baku, TurkicWorld reports.

This service allows one to hit the road on a bike, go the distance, and bring it back to any parking spot, giving residents and tourists a chance to get around the city in an affordable, safe, and eco-friendly way.

The bike-sharing service also saves users from being stuck in a jam and searching for a parking spot, the nation's Land Transport Agency of Azerbaijan told Trend.

So far, approximately 50 parking spots for micromobility vehicles in Baku have been decked out with all the bells and whistles, and signs with the lowdown on how to rent bicycles are good to go.

Parking spots were designed with their closeness to major transportation hubs, schools, and retail malls in mind. Information boards also feature QR codes.

Another good news is that one can kickstart and shut down the bicycles by scanning these QR codes on mobile devices to access the software. The app also lets users keep an eye out for parking spaces in your neck of the woods.
