BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 13. A roadmap was signed between Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade and Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Economy and Commerce to explore the feasibility of establishing industrial and technology parks in Kyrgyzstan at the Kyrgyz-Russian Forum, the Kyrgyz ministry told TurkicWorld
The collaboration will dive into the nuts and bolts of establishing industrial and technology parks in Kyrgyzstan, tapping into Russia's know-how in getting these ventures off the ground and keeping them running smoothly.
According to the ministry, these parks are considered critical for creativity and economic progress, and Kyrgyzstan is strongly in favor of their expansion.
The recent Kyrgyz law "On Technology Parks," enacted on July 12, 2024, provides a legal framework for the establishment and development of these parks. It aims to facilitate technology transfer, create new jobs, and lay the foundation for a knowledge-based economy in Kyrgyzstan.
According to the country's State Statistical Committee, Kyrgyzstan's industrial output for January through August 2024 reached over 330 billion soms ($3.9 billion), which is a 0.7 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
