PARIS, France, August 7. Taekwondo competitor Gashim Magomedov of Azerbaijan has won his heat at the Paris Olympics and is now in the 1/4 finals, TurkicWorld reports.
For the 58-kilogram category, Magomedov faced off against Irishman Jack Woolley in the 1/8 finals.
The Azerbaijani competitor prevailed with first-round scores of 7:4 and second-round scores of 12:7.
The 1/4 of the finals will see the Azerbaijani athlete facing Spanish athlete Adrian Vicente Yunta.
