PARIS, France, August 1. On the sixth day of the Summer Olympics in Paris, Azerbaijani judoka Zelym Kotsoiev (100 kg) reached the quarterfinals, TurkicWorld reports.
The world champion and top-ranked athlete began his competition in the second circle.
The Azerbaijani athlete advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Piotr Kuczera from Poland.
To note, the Azerbaijani national team has already secured one gold medal, won by judoka Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg).
