BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli has been awarded the "Shohrat" Order.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed the relevant decree. The document text was published on his official website.
According to the decree, Aslanbayli was awarded the "Shohrat" Order for his special services in the development of the Azerbaijani oil industry.
Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli is bp’s Vice President for Communications and External Affairs for the Caspian, Central Asia and Türkiye region.
Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli was born on August 7, 1976, in Baku. In 1993, he graduated from Baku Secondary School No. 176. In 1997 and 1999, he completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Faculty of International Relations and International Law of Baku State University. He holds a PhD in Law.
He began his professional career in 1998 at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He joined bp in 2002 and has served as the company’s regional vice president since 2015. He has also been engaged in academic activities since 1997 and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Baku State University.
Throughout his career, Aslanbayli has held a number of senior positions in areas including communications and external affairs, tax and customs, ethics and compliance, as well as business services.
In 2017, he was awarded the "Taraggi" Medal by the President of Azerbaijan for his contributions to the development of the country’s oil and gas industry. Aslanbayli was also appointed an Honorary Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) by King Charles III of the United Kingdom.
