BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 21. Atatürk University’s Open and Distance Education Faculty will hold a graduation ceremony in Baku for students from Azerbaijan who have completed their studies at the university.
The ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 14:00 in the courtyard of the Baku-Turkish Anatolian High School, bringing together approximately 200 graduating students.
University and faculty administrators, guests from Türkiye and Azerbaijan, and the families of graduates are expected to attend the event.
The programme will begin with the national anthems of Türkiye and Azerbaijan, followed by presentations highlighting Atatürk University and the Open and Distance Education Faculty’s educational activities and the students’ journey towards graduation.
Following protocol speeches, successful students will receive awards, while students who achieved top academic results will be presented with plaques.
Graduates will then be invited to the stage to receive their diplomas from Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu and celebrate their graduation with their families and guests.
The ceremony will conclude with the graduates throwing their caps into the air and taking a group photograph.
Atatürk University’s provision of higher education opportunities to students in Azerbaijan through its Open and Distance Education Faculty represents one of the practical examples of educational cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
The graduation ceremony in Baku will mark the completion of the students’ years-long academic journey while also providing an opportunity to strengthen academic and cultural ties between the two countries.
