Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ulukbek Maripov met with Minister of Finance and National Economy of the Kingdom of Bahrain Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa as part of his working visit.
According to the Foreign Ministry, during the meeting the sides discussed issues of further development of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Bahrain in the sphere of trade, economy, investment, financial and banking sectors, TurkicWorld reports citing Kabar.
Maripov noted the importance of creating a Kyrgyz-Bahraini intergovernmental commission and a Kyrgyz-Bahraini business council.
At the same time, in order to establish trade between the countries, he proposed launching direct regular and cargo flights.
Considering the successful experience of the banking and financial sector of Bahrain, he also proposed creating a joint bank.
The ambassador informed about the upcoming Second Investment Forum "Central Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council", which will be held in Bishkek this summer.
In this regard, he asked to send a high-level delegation from Bahrain to participate in this important event, hold B2B meetings and familiarize themselves with the investment potential of the republic.
In turn, Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa thanked the Kyrgyz ambassador for the proposals and expressed his readiness to make the necessary efforts to jointly implement the plan.
At the same time, he noted the importance of the upcoming investment forum, which will be held in Bishkek and reported that a high-level delegation from Bahrain will be sent to Kyrgyzstan.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to further advance the issues discussed and continue work to further strengthen trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
