Kyrgyzstan's freight seeks access to Europe via Azerbaijan - official

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 29. Freight from Kyrgyzstan can access Europe via Azerbaijan, co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund board, Almaz Mambetov said, TurkicWorld reports.

"Significant commercial endeavors are currently ongoing in Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. Notably, building is underway in Kyrgyzstan for the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan line, which will facilitate access to Turkmenistan. From there, freight can be carried to Azerbaijan via the Caspian Sea, in line with Azerbaijani interests. Additionally, freight from Kyrgyzstan will have access to European markets via Azerbaijan," the co-chair said.

According to him, Kyrgyzstan must now assess what it may sell to Europe via Azerbaijani ports.

The 454-kilometer-long China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad line project aims to link China's railroads with those of Uzbekistan via Kyrgyzstan, ultimately integrating into the European railroad network.
