Bishkek, Oct. 23, 2023 . / Kabar / . The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the field of renewable energy, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported.
The memorandum aims to strengthen mutual understanding and joint development of renewable energy to counter the challenges of climate change.
The document was signed by Energy Minister of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibraev and Minister of Environment of the Republic of Korea Mrs. Han Hwa-jin.
Prior to the signing ceremony, the parties discussed a number of issues of cooperation in the energy sector.
Minister Ibraev provided information about Kyrgyzstan's energy potential, large and small hydroelectric power plants under construction, projects, reforms, laws and the problem of smog in the city. He also emphasized the need for exchange of experience between the two countries to solve some problems in the energy sector.
Han Hwa-jin emphasized the great experience of the Korean people in the development of green energy and elimination of urban smog, and stated that they are ready to cooperate and share experience in this area.
