Kazakhstan proves reliable partner for China in Belt and Road Initiative - deputy minister

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 13. Kazakhstan is a reliable partner for China in implementing the Belt and Road Initiative, said Arman Kassenov, Kazakhstan's Deputy Minister of National Economy, at the 9th Belt and Road Summit in Hong Kong, TurkicWorld reports.

"The Belt and Road Initiative was announced in 2013. Kazakhstan was the first to support this ambitious project and has traditionally been a reliable partner for China in its implementation," said the Deputy Minister.

He highlighted that, amid current geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges, the idea of reviving the Silk Road has gained renewed significance.

The deputy minister emphasized that under this initiative, all countries have significant potential for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, particularly in the areas of innovation and green energy, transportation, logistics, and finance.

Additionally, during the visit, the Kazakh delegation held meetings with several Chinese financial institutions based in Beijing, including the Silk Road Fund, the China Development Bank (CDB), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the China-Eurasia Foundation, and the China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation (Sinosure), among others.

The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) was proposed in 2013 by Chinese President Xi Jinping. It envisions the development of a series of large-scale "economic corridors" to facilitate China's access to the Middle East and Europe.
