The Russian company Tatneft will join the project on rehabilitation of one of the oldest oilfields in Azerbaijan - Bibi-Heybat, where it will work together with SOCAR on the introduction of new technologies, the head of Tatneft Nail Maganov said, TurkicWorld reports.
He made the announcement during the meeting "Dialogue of Equals" of oil companies with the participants of the V International Oil and Gas Youth Forum in Almetyevsk (RF).
"We have very close cooperation with SOCAR. We are now joining the Bibi-Heybat field, where we, together with our colleagues from SOCAR, will implement those technologies available to us," he said, noting that Bibi-Heybat is one of the oldest fields in Azerbaijan.
Maganov added that Tatneft is also working together with SOCAR in Türkiye on a project in the field of petrochemical development and reconstruction of oil refineries.
"We are working on these issues with our colleagues with pleasure," the head of Tatneft emphasized.
To note, the Bibi-Heybat field has been under development onshore in Azerbaijan for more than 100 years, and modern technologies are required to extract its residual oil reserves.
