BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 21. Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have signed a series of new documents aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation in several priority sectors following the successful conclusion of the fourth Interregional Forum between the two countries.
Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov announced the agreements in a post on X, highlighting the continued expansion of economic ties between Baku and Tashkent.
Jabbarov said the intensive development of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations, driven by the political will of the two countries’ leaders, provides significant momentum for further diversification of economic cooperation and stronger business partnerships.
The newly signed documents cover cooperation in priority areas including energy, finance, infrastructure, construction and manufacturing.
According to the minister, the agreements are also expected to strengthen ties between business associations in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan and create additional opportunities for direct cooperation between companies from the two countries.
The documents are intended to help unlock the full potential of the private sector and provide a stronger framework for implementing joint investment and business projects.
Economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan has expanded alongside the broader strategic partnership between the two countries, with both governments seeking to increase investment, trade and cooperation in major infrastructure and industrial projects.
The fourth Interregional Forum serves as another platform for strengthening direct links between the regions, businesses and economic institutions of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
