DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, October 30. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) projects that Tajikistan's real GDP growth will reach 6.8 percent in 2024, TurkicWorld reports.
This figure rose by 0.3 percentage points from the 6.5 percent forecast in the IMF's April report.
Looking ahead to 2025, the IMF predicts a decline in real GDP growth to 4.5 percent, which remains unchanged from its previous outlook in April.
Similarly, the World Bank (WB) has revised its forecast for Tajikistan's real GDP growth in 2024 upward to 7.2 percent, an increase of 0.7 percentage points from its June estimate.
The outlook for 2025 has also improved, with GDP growth now expected to reach 5.5 percent, up by 1 percentage point from earlier projections.
Additionally, for 2026, the World Bank anticipates a growth rate of 5 percent, representing a 0.5 percentage point increase since June.
To put that in perspective, Tajikistan's GDP grew by 8.3 percent in 2023 and by 8 percent in 2022.
