Azerbaijan sees first-of-its-kind center combining intellectual and physical training open in Qusar

A unique specialized center integrating a chess school and a basketball facility has been inaugurated in Azerbaijan for the first time.

TurkicWorld reports that the project was implemented by the İsfa Sporting Sports Club in the Qusar region, with strong support from the Qusar District Executive Authority.

The opening ceremony was attended by President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation Mahir Mammadov, Head of the Qusar District Executive Authority Sahir Mammadkhanov, as well as representatives of various state institutions and private entities. It was emphasized that special attention and support were provided by the district leadership for the successful realization of the project.

Speakers at the event highlighted the growing attention to sports development in the country, particularly chess, noting that the newly established school will play a significant role in fostering intellectual growth among young people.

It was noted that the Chess School, with a capacity of 300 users, will contribute to increasing interest in the sport in the region, identifying talented children and preparing them at a professional level. The facilities created at the center will enable participants to enhance both their cognitive abilities and physical fitness.

Within the framework of the ceremony, guests were ознакомлены with the conditions created at the school and informed about its future areas of activity.

It should be noted that several officials, including Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov and former Minister of Education, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Misir Mardanov have also reviewed the facilities established at the Chess School.
