SAMARKAND, Uzbekistan, September 26. Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will reveal a new innovative digital platform today, said Jin Liqun, AIIB President and Chairman of the Board of Directors, at a press conference, TurkicWorld reports.
He explained that the new AIIB+ innovative digital platform is designed to connect financial and technical resources with the bank’s project pipeline, offering a streamlined and cost-effective solution for transaction processing.
"This tool, expected to be unveiled tomorrow, will strengthen AIIB’s capacity to deliver on its mission while enhancing collaboration with international partners," he added.
AIIB president emphasized the institution’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability, social equality, and economic resilience during a press conference today at the AIIB’s annual meeting.
"Our bank remains focused on projects that promote environmental sustainability, social equality, and economic resilience," Jin Liqun stated. "We believe these are the key drivers of transforming communities and improving millions of lives".
AIIB’s partnerships with the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank were particularly highlighted. The president pointed out that the bank has become one of the largest co-financing partners of these global institutions, which has enabled AIIB to amplify its impact on poverty reduction, fostering economic growth, and creating sustainable environments.
"The importance of multilateralism has never been more apparent, whether it’s addressing climate change, alleviating poverty, or promoting sustainable development," he remarked. "It is incumbent upon us to work collectively as a system".
Additionally, during this year’s annual meeting, the AIIB will sign multiple cooperation agreements with partners from various countries, covering sectors such as infrastructure, renewable energy, and digital development. These agreements underscore AIIB’s dedication to addressing pressing global challenges through collaborative efforts across borders.
AIIB is hosting its first annual meeting of the Board of Governors in Central Asia on themed "Building Resilient Infrastructure for All" on September 25-26, 2024, in Samarkand.
Over two days, more than 25 panel discussions will take place, focusing on innovations in infrastructure financing, climate resilience, sustainable development, and the digital transformation of infrastructure projects.
