BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 24. Norway’s government has announced that it will provide an additional $13 million in assistance to the occupied Palestinian territory through the United Nations and the World Bank.
The new funding will include support for public sector budgets and is aimed at helping address the growing humanitarian and economic challenges facing Palestinians.
Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said the need for international support for Palestinians is “greater than ever”. He also criticized Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, stating that they are illegal under international law.
Norway has continued its involvement in international efforts related to Palestinian assistance. In 2024, Oslo formally recognized the State of Palestine and currently chairs the international donor group for Palestinians.
The Norwegian government said the additional contribution is part of its broader commitment to supporting Palestinian institutions and humanitarian efforts through international mechanisms.
