BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 12. BRICS leaders have firmly rejected the forced displacement of Palestinians from the occupied Palestinian territories, whether temporarily or permanently.
The position was outlined in the group’s joint declaration, in which the leaders also opposed any measures aimed at changing the geographic or demographic character of the Gaza Strip.
BRICS reaffirmed its steadfast support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and stressed the importance of fully respecting the mandate granted to the agency by the UN General Assembly.
The leaders also opposed unilateral measures aimed at changing the legal and historical status of occupied Jerusalem.
They called for respect for all religious and holy sites in Jerusalem and stressed the importance of preserving their status.
