Jordan Investment Tareq Abu Ghazaleh Jordan economy Economic Modernization Vision

Jordan offers investors stable base and access to regional markets

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 10. Jordan offers investors a stable business environment, a skilled workforce, strong digital capabilities and access to regional and global markets, Investment Minister Tareq Abu Ghazaleh said.

Abu Ghazaleh, speaking to CNBC Arabia, said geopolitical and economic developments have made investors more cautious, increasing the importance of stability and a clear economic vision.

He said Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision provides a long-term national framework for successive governments, establishing clear priorities and programmes for economic and investment policies.

Despite regional and global challenges, Jordan continues to record growth, particularly in the services sector, while seeking to turn emerging challenges into investment opportunities.

Abu Ghazaleh highlighted the Jordan-Europe Investment Conference, scheduled for November under the patronage of King Abdullah II and with the follow-up of Crown Prince Hussein, as an important step toward strengthening economic ties between Jordan and Europe.

The conference is expected to bring together investors, investment funds, financial institutions and companies to present investment opportunities in infrastructure, energy, transportation, trade corridors and technology.

The minister said the event aims to connect Jordanian investment opportunities with European financing, expertise and markets while strengthening Jordan’s competitiveness and regional economic role.

Abu Ghazaleh also stressed the potential for greater Arab economic integration and intra-regional trade, saying Jordan’s stability, strategic location and network of free trade agreements position it to play a larger role in regional commerce.

He highlighted the education, skills, entrepreneurial spirit and dedication of Jordanian workers, saying the country could serve as a production, export and regional management hub.

The minister said the number of foreign companies establishing centres in Jordan increased by 23 percent during the first half of the year, reflecting growing interest in using the Kingdom as a regional base.

He added that investment contributes not only to capital formation but also to job creation, household incomes, exports, provincial economic activity and the development of local supplier networks.

Jordan’s resilience, according to Abu Ghazaleh, is supported by monetary stability, controlled inflation, reliable supply chains and developed infrastructure and services.

He said the government has shifted from broad incentives toward more targeted measures, including exemptions, investment incentives, reduced tax rates and simplified digital government services.

The Invest.jo platform provides investors with a single gateway to more than 120 investment opportunities across Jordan’s governorates, alongside an investment calculator and an artificial intelligence-powered “Ask Me” service.

Abu Ghazaleh said plans are also under way to integrate the platform with “Sanad for Business”.

Regarding reconstruction efforts in Syria, the minister said Jordan is well positioned to become a regional hub, creating opportunities for Jordanian service providers, logistics companies and industrial firms while supporting employment, exports and regional economic cooperation.
