BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has called on Muslim countries to put aside their differences and strengthen cooperation in response to what he described as the excessive demands of major powers.
According to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, Araghchi said Tehran would continue pursuing unity across the Muslim world regardless of political disagreements between individual countries.
“We will pursue unity within the Muslim world in all circumstances,” the Iranian foreign minister said.
Araghchi specifically named Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Türkiye and Pakistan among countries he described as members of the “large family of the Muslim world”.
He acknowledged that Iran has differences with some Muslim-majority countries and that disagreements with certain states could be serious.
However, Araghchi argued that such disputes should be set aside to allow Muslim countries to present a more united position in dealing with major global powers.
“We must put aside all these differences so that the Muslim world can stand against the excessive demands of major powers,” he said.
The Iranian foreign minister also praised what he described as the resilience of the Iranian population during the recent conflict. According to Araghchi, Iranians stood firm for 40 days and, through their resistance, gave the wider Muslim world “a great lesson”.
