BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 28. Kuwait and Pakistan signed a joint defense and military cooperation agreement during the Kuwaiti Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah's visit to Islamabad on Thursday. TurkicWorld reports via kuwaittimes
Duirng the visit, Sheikh Abdullah met with Pakistan's Minister of Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and the two sides discussed boosting defense and military cooperation between the two countries. They also discussed regional developments and efforts exerted to promote security and stability in the region, Kuwait Army said in a statement.
The two ministers signed the cooperation agreement, which constitutes a "significant step in defense and military cooperation between the two countries," said the statement.
The agreement helps promote operational coordination, exchange of expertise, and armed forces' integration to serve common interests and support regional security and stability, the army said.
Kuwait Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Shuraiaan and Kuwait's Ambassador to Pakistan Nassar Al-Mutairi attended the signing ceremony.
