BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 27. The Israeli military says it has intercepted a drone launched by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
According to an Israeli army spokesperson, two drones targeted Israeli forces operating in what Israel describes as a security zone in the Ali al-Taher area.
The military said one of the drones was successfully intercepted.
The location and status of the second drone remain unknown, according to the Israeli army’s statement.
The spokesperson announced the incident in a post on X but provided no further details about possible casualties or damage.
The incident comes amid continuing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, where exchanges of fire and military activity have raised concerns about further escalation.
