BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 14. Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned what it described as a “reprehensible Iranian attack” on two Emirati vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, warning that the incident poses a threat to maritime security, energy supplies and international trade.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said the attack endangers the security of maritime navigation, the stability of energy supplies and the continuity of international trade.
Kuwait also called for an immediate halt to actions that could further escalate tensions in the region. The ministry stressed the importance of respecting freedom of navigation and ensuring the safe passage of vessels through international waterways.
The Kuwaiti authorities further called for the Strait of Hormuz to be fully and unconditionally reopened, underscoring the strategic importance of the waterway to regional and global commerce.
The statement comes amid heightened tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime route for energy shipments. Any prolonged disruption to navigation could have wider consequences for international trade and global energy markets.
Kuwait’s condemnation adds to growing regional criticism of the reported attack on the Emirati vessels and increases diplomatic pressure over the security of commercial shipping in the strategic waterway.
