BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 24. The Israeli military is preparing to launch a large-scale operation in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus and several surrounding villages following a shooting incident near the town of Tal, according to Israeli media reports.
Israeli Army Radio reported that the operation aims to arrest dozens of Palestinians who are alleged to have been involved in the earlier exchange of fire. The planned raids are expected to target multiple locations across Nablus and nearby communities as Israeli forces expand security operations in the area.
In response to the incident, the Israeli military has reportedly canceled leave for soldiers and ordered additional troop deployments to the occupied West Bank. According to Israel's Channel 13, five military companies, including units from the Paratroopers Brigade, have been sent to reinforce existing forces.
Israeli Army Radio also reported that the military's preliminary investigation concluded the shooting involving Israeli personnel was "not planned," although security forces continue efforts to identify and detain those allegedly connected to the incident.
The occupied West Bank has witnessed a sharp rise in military operations, arrests and armed confrontations in recent months, amid heightened tensions and recurring violence across the Palestinian territory.
