Iran’s Revolutionary Guard claims it caused ‘destruction’ at US facilities

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 20, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says its naval forces carried out three simultaneous attacks against US military facilities, claiming they caused “heavy blows” and extensive damage.

In a statement carried by the IRNA news agency, the IRGC said it targeted US “drone maintenance and repair sheds” at Al-Sakhir Airport in Bahrain, claiming the facilities were destroyed.

The group also said it attacked preparation facilities for US Navy Task Force 59 vessels at Salman Port in Bahrain, causing “destruction and heavy damage.”

According to the statement, the IRGC also targeted Marine Special Forces facilities at the Arifjan base in Kuwait, claiming they were set on fire and “completely destroyed.”

The IRGC further criticized US President Donald Trump, saying he had underestimated Iran’s military capabilities by claiming Tehran had limited missile and drone supplies. The statement said Iran would have sufficient weapons even if the conflict continued for several years.

The claims have not been independently verified.
