BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 16, Russia has expressed concern over the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran, highlighting potential negative consequences for the global economy. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow is in contact with Iranian officials regarding the situation.
“All of this is fraught with continuing negative consequences for the global economy, which cannot but cause concern,” Peskov stated, describing the economic outlook as “rather dire.”
He added that, while Russia is engaged with Iranian authorities, Iran has not requested a direct call with President Vladimir Putin.
Moscow has urged both Iran and the United States to refrain from escalating tensions, emphasizing the need to avoid further destabilization of regional security and global markets.
