BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 10, Russia’s state nuclear corporation Rosatom is sending the first group of employees back to Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant, according to Rosatom CEO Alexei Likhachev, as quoted by Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
Likhachev said the first six specialists would return to the facility as part of efforts to resume work at the nuclear plant.
Rosatom is currently constructing two additional units at the Bushehr nuclear power plant. The company evacuated hundreds of employees after the United States and Israel launched their joint military operation against Iran on February 28.
The return of Russian personnel comes amid heightened international attention on Iran’s nuclear facilities following recent military tensions in the region.
