BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 22. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun held a phone call with US Vice President JD Vance, White House senior adviser Jared Kushner, and Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to discuss the situation surrounding the ceasefire with Israel.
TurkicWorld reports that according to a statement from the Lebanese presidency, the call focused on efforts to consolidate the ceasefire in Lebanon and reduce ongoing Israeli military operations in the region.
The officials also discussed potential mechanisms to improve coordination on the ground, including the possible creation of a “coordination cell” to monitor implementation of the ceasefire agreement and ensure compliance by relevant parties.
The talks reflect ongoing international efforts involving the United States and regional mediators to stabilize the situation in Lebanon amid continued tensions and sporadic military activity.
