BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. Hezbollah has reaffirmed its commitment to the ceasefire in Lebanon while warning Israel not to attempt territorial expansion.
TurkicWorld reports that in a statement, the Iran-backed Lebanese armed group said it carried out attacks on Israeli troops that had advanced near Nabatieh in southern Lebanon overnight. Hezbollah criticized Israeli violations that began last night and continued into today, emphasizing that it had respected the ceasefire since Friday evening, despite Israel’s repeated breaches.
The group stressed that it remains vigilant and prepared to respond, citing Israel’s “history of treachery and betrayal.” Hezbollah added, “The Islamic Resistance declares that, while adhering to the ceasefire, it will not hesitate to confront any attempt by the enemy to seize land and expand its occupation.”
Analysts note that Hezbollah’s statement signals both a commitment to maintain the current truce and a readiness to act if Israeli incursions continue, highlighting the fragile security situation in southern Lebanon.
