Pakistani and Turkish foreign ministers express hope for lasting regional peace

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18. Pakistan and Türkiye have expressed optimism that the recent US-Iran agreement could contribute to long-term stability and peace in the region, following high-level diplomatic discussions between the two countries.

TurkicWorld reports that Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a phone call with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to review the developments surrounding the US-Iran memorandum of understanding.

According to a statement from Dar’s office, Fidan congratulated Pakistan on its role in facilitating the “Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding” between the United States and Iran, which Pakistan has presented as a key mediating achievement.

The statement added that both ministers expressed hope that this development would help promote lasting peace, stability, and broader progress not only in the region but also beyond it.
