Qatar Middle East Donald Trump Diplomacy Iran-US deal Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani

Qatar praises Iran-US deal, says it is “always here to help”

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has said that Qatar will continue to support diplomatic efforts in the region following its key mediation role in the agreement between Iran and the United States.

TurkicWorld reports that he stated that while the deal between Washington and Tehran is critical for regional security, it is also “very important” for Iran itself, highlighting the broader benefits of the agreement for stability across the Middle East.

Qatar has played an active mediating role since the escalation of tensions involving Iran earlier this year, with Doha frequently hosting and facilitating indirect negotiations between the involved parties.

Speaking at a press briefing during the G7 summit in Evian-les-Bains, France, the Emir told US President Donald Trump that Qatar remains committed to assisting whenever requested, saying: “Whenever friends ask us to help, we’re always here to help.”

The comments underline Qatar’s continued positioning as a key regional mediator in high-level diplomatic negotiations, particularly in efforts aimed at reducing tensions between major regional and global actors.
