BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 12. India’s Ministry of External Affairs has summoned senior US diplomat Jason Meeks to protest attacks on commercial vessels carrying Indian sailors in the Strait of Hormuz. The ministry condemned the continuing US naval strikes in the Gulf of Oman, which have already resulted in the deaths of three Indian mariners.
TurkicWorld reports that the statement emphasized India’s deep concern over the use of lethal force against civilian shipping, describing the losses as tragic and avoidable.
Earlier reports indicated that three commercial ships were hit by US air strikes this week in the Strait of Hormuz, causing the fatalities.
