BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 11 Gulf of Oman – US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that its forces disabled an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman after it attempted to transport Iranian oil, violating the ongoing blockade against Iran.
TurkicWorld reports that according to CENTCOM, this marks the third commercial vessel disabled this week. The Guinea-Bissau-flagged M/T Jalveer was targeted after the crew repeatedly failed to comply with directions from US forces. Two Hellfire missiles were fired into the ship’s engine room by a US aircraft.
Earlier, Palau-flagged vessels M/T Marivex and M/T Settebello were disabled on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. Since the blockade began on April 13, CENTCOM forces have disabled nine non-compliant vessels, redirected 135 compliant ships, and allowed 42 humanitarian aid vessels to pass.
