CENTCOM rejects Iranian claim of US Navy helicopter crash in Red Sea

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 6. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has rejected reports by Iranian state media claiming that a US Navy helicopter crashed in the Red Sea.

In a post on X, CENTCOM described reports that an MH-60R Navy helicopter had been downed after declaring an emergency as false.

The US military command said that all US military aircraft and personnel across the Middle East were safe and accounted for.

The statement came in response to reports circulating in Iranian state media about an alleged incident involving a US military helicopter in the Red Sea.

CENTCOM did not provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the reports but directly disputed the claim that a US Navy aircraft had been brought down.

The incident comes amid heightened military tensions in the wider Middle East and increased attention to US military operations and maritime security in the Red Sea.
