BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 5. Egypt strongly condemned the attack on a United Nations peacekeeping position in southern Lebanon, which resulted in the death of a Serbian soldier and injuries to personnel from Spain and El Salvador.
TurkicWorld reports that the Egyptian foreign ministry emphasized its absolute rejection of any targeting of UNIFIL forces and called for the protection of peacekeepers to enable them to fulfill their mandate in support of stability in Lebanon.
Cairo extended condolences to Serbia and wished a swift recovery to the wounded.
