BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 1. During a visit to the Pakistani capital, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has praised Islamabad for preventing “a return to full-blown war on several occasions” TurkicWorld reports via aljazeera.
“There is now a 10-year diplomatic opening to extend the ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz,” Kallas said in a joint press conference with Pakistan’s FM.
Kallas also reiterated previous comments that any deal must be followed by deeper negotiations on Iran’s nuclear file.
“I see a concrete role for the EU in helping to make any eventual agreement durable.”
