Uzbek FM receives copies of credentials of the new Ambassador of Slovakia

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov has received the newly appointed Ambassador of Slovakia Viktor Borecky.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, a ceremony of presenting copies of credentials of the head of the Slovak diplomatic mission in Tashkent was held.

Mr. Saidov congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to a high and responsible post, wished him fruitful work and success in further strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and Slovakia.

The parties confirmed mutual readiness for the active promotion of economic diplomacy. It was noted that the current level of trade does not correspond to the existing economic opportunities, human and production resources of the two countries. In this context, the need for holding a meeting of the Uzbekistan – Slovakia Interdepartmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was noted.

The Ambassador expressed the support of Bratislava in the process of Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization, as well as in accelerating the conclusion of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the European Union.

The parties exchanged views on strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties. The organizational aspects of holding joint events and high-level mutual visits were discussed.
