Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan establish Supreme Interstate Council

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 25. Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan established a Supreme Interstate Council headed by the leaders of state, TurkicWorld reports.

Kazakhstan's Senate of the Parliament approved the Law on Ratification of the Treaty between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on Aerial Relations. The treaty is aimed at expanding cooperation in key areas.

According to the law, coordination of the activities of the Supreme Interstate Council is entrusted to the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs.

In accordance with the provisions of the treaty, the parties promote the strengthening of ties between the parliaments, political parties, and public organizations of the two states.

Meanwhile, as per data from the Uzbek Statistics Agency, trade turnover volume between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan amounted to $937.7 million from January through March 2024. The exports reached $294.8 million, while the imports amounted to $642.9 million during this period.
