TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 18. Uzbekistan’s Fergana region and Hungary’s Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County signed an agreement on cooperation, TurkicWorld reports.
The document was signed during the first Uzbek-Hungarian interregional forum held in Uzbekistan’s Kokand. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan Akram Aliyev, President of Hungary’s Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Imre Hubai, as well as heads and representatives of regional administrations, ministries, departments, and business circles of the two countries.
The participants observed the fruitful blossoming of cooperation and the widening of connections between the regions of Uzbekistan and Hungary. Furthermore, Hungarian Gedeon Richter, Meditop Pharmaceutical, Inpark, Bonafarm, BDPST Group, Bayer Construct Group, and a host of other companies are hitting the ground running with collaborative projects across pharmaceuticals, chemistry, electrical engineering, agriculture, and the banking sector.
Both sides agreed to conduct a visit of the Ferghana region business mission to Hungary in the first half of 2025.
Earlier, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban discussed further expansion of multifaceted cooperation on the sidelines of an informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Azerbaijan's Shusha city.
The President of Uzbekistan and the Hungarian prime minister paid special attention to accelerating the implementation of cooperation projects in the fields of industry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, logistics, construction, and other areas.
