Uzbekistan suggests range of measures to develop Central Asian-German business partnership

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 17. Uzbekistan proposes several measures to develop business partnership between Central Asia and Germany, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the second Central Asia-Germany summit, TurkicWorld reports.

"In order to develop business partnership, I propose to develop a roadmap for expansion of investment and technological cooperation between Central Asia and Germany; to attract leading German companies and banks to implement projects in the emerging special economic and industrial zones in the border areas, large infrastructure projects of regional importance; to launch a permanent platform of business dialogue - the Council of Investors and Entrepreneurs 'Central Asia and Germany'," he said.

The President of Uzbekistan also mentioned that Uzbekistan is ready to hold the first meeting next year within the framework of the Tashkent Investment Forum.

To note, the second meeting of the leaders of Central Asian countries and Germany was held in Astana.

In the course of the summit, the issues of further development and deepening of multifaceted cooperation between the countries of the region and Germany were reviewed.

Special attention was paid to the expansion of practical cooperation in trade and economics, investment, technology, transport and communication, and other priority areas. Joint meetings with the heads of leading German companies and banks were also held.

Following the summit, a joint declaration of the heads of Central Asian states and Germany was adopted.
