TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 14. Uzbekistan has explored ways to enhance transport corridors for exporting goods, with a particular focus on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, also known as the Middle Corridor), TurkicWorld reports.
This topic was discussed during a roundtable on improving cargo transportation along transport corridors and boosting export potential.
Participants in the roundtable, including Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Transport Ilhom Mahkamov, representatives from Uzbekistan Railways, and leaders from more than 40 major enterprises involved in export, transport, and logistics, also considered how to create more favorable conditions for export activities.
During the discussions, entrepreneurs presented new proposals and initiatives based on their practical experience.
Following the meeting, tasks were identified for the systematic implementation of these rational proposals. To this end, the ministries will develop a roadmap with specific deadlines and designated responsible parties.
The Middle Corridor is a transportation and trade route connecting Asia and Europe, passing through several countries in the region. It serves as an alternative to the traditional Northern and Southern Corridors.
The route starts in China and crosses Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. It then passes through the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye before reaching Europe.
