Uzbekistan, Austria sign memorandum of cooperation

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 6. Uzbekistan and Austria have signed a memorandum of cooperation, TurkicWorld reports.

The document was signed during an online meeting between the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, and the Deputy Minister of Finance of Austria, Andreas Reichardt.

The memorandum covers cooperation in the field of innovative technologies, best practices, and economic interaction.

At the same time, during the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, including investments, trade, and economic and financial relations. The parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation between the two countries.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their intentions to continue working to inform the Austrian business community about the favorable business environment in Uzbekistan, as well as to unlock the potential for cooperation in the trade, economic, financial, and investment spheres.

At the end of 2023, Uzbekistan and Austria signed a protocol outlining agreements on measures to avoid double taxation, air transport cooperation, and the establishment of an Austrian foreign trade representative office in Uzbekistan.
