Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan Umid Shodiyev held several meetings during his visit to Belarus.
In particular, a meeting was held with the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus Yuri Senko. The parties discussed the issue of increasing the tourist flow between the countries. Information was provided on UNESCO World Heritage sites in Uzbekistan, including the historical centers of Bukhara, Samarkand, Shakhrisabz, and the internal fortress of Ichan-Kala in the city of Khiva, Western Tien Shan and Zarafshan-Karakum corridor of the Great Silk Road with its picturesque natural reserves.
Umid Shodiyev also talked with the leadership of the Sanatorium and Resort Unitary Enterprise “Belprofsoyuzkurort”, which includes 12 sanatoriums of the first and highest categories located in all regions of Belarus, and the tourist and excursion unitary enterprise “Belorusturist” – the oldest tour operator in the country with 70 years of experience work in the tourism services market.
Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, Chairperson of the Belarusian Trade Union of Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism Workers Tatiana Filimonova emphasized the importance of the meetings held, during which it was possible to agree on cooperation between the above-mentioned Belarusian enterprises and similar organizations in Uzbekistan.
In addition, during a conversation with the Minister of Sports and Tourism of Belarus Sergey Kovalchuk, a decision was made to create a permanent tourism commission of the two countries.
