The UK highly appreciates the constructive role of Uzbekistan in finding solutions to resolve the situation in Afghanistan

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bobur Usmanov met in London with the UK Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Andrew McCoubrey.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of Uzbekistan – British cooperation and regional security issues, including the development of the situation in Afghanistan.

The British side highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s constructive role in finding solutions to resolve the situation in Afghanistan to ensure the peaceful development of this country.

The efforts of the Uzbek side to increase the volume of humanitarian assistance to the Afghan population and the implementation of large infrastructure projects in Afghanistan were emphasized.

Joint efforts in the fight against terrorism and extremism were also discussed.

Mutual interest was expressed to continue actively interacting in the Afghan direction, including by continuing consultations on this issue.
