Investments from Korea exceed $7 billion

Uza. Promising projects are being implemented in Uzbekistan jointly with South Korea in green energy, digital technologies, mechanical engineering, chemical, electrical, and textile industries, infrastructure development, and other areas.

There are almost a thousand joint ventures with the participation of South Korean investments. The volume of investments has already exceeded $7 billion. The total portfolio of projects implemented effectively with the Korea Agency for International Cooperation, Eximbank of Korea, is more than $3 billion. This was noted at a meeting attended by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Han Duck-soo.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Korea, including trade-economic, investment, and social relations. The need to accelerate the implementation of projects to create a medical and pharmaceutical cluster, Uzbekistan-Korean cluster for producing electronic products and semiconductors together with the Fund for Economic Development and Cooperation, was noted.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea stressed that he supports developing new constructive proposals to deepen bilateral cooperation in all relevant areas.
