Uzbekistan, Poland to enhance inter-parliamentary cooperation

UzA. The delegation of Uzbekistan Parliament visited the Republic of Poland. A regular meeting of Uzbekistan – Poland Inter-Parliamentary Group took place within the framework of the visit.
Prospects for developing Uzbekistan – Poland relations, in particular, to enhance inter-parliamentary cooperation, enrich it with new content and enhance the exchange of experience in lawmaking and parliamentary control were discussed at the meeting.

The parliamentarians of Uzbekistan provided detailed information on the socio-economic transformations carried out under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan aimed at improving the level and quality of life of the population, improving social infrastructure and ensuring sustainable development of the country.

The Polish side highly appreciated reforms carried out in Uzbekistan aimed at strengthening the foundations of a democratic state and the development of civil society institutions.

During the dialogue, the progressive development of the bilateral inter-parliamentary dialogue was noted with satisfaction. Mutual interest was expressed in intensifying the interaction of the legislative bodies of the two countries in areas of mutual interest.

The parties also discussed further development of interregional cooperation, increasing trade-economic and investment cooperation. Projects in the textile and clothing-knitwear industries, agricultural and energy sectors of the economy have been identified as priority areas.

Views were exchanged on forming a reliable bilateral framework for cooperation in labor migration.

The sides stressed the significant potential of cooperation in tourism. It was noted that the launch of regular flights between the capitals of the two countries will contribute to the growth of business contacts and increase mutual tourist flow.
